The Luminous Mysteries of the Holy Rosary
The Baptism in the Jordan
For the unity of all Christians
Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Son Jesus humbled Himself and was baptized by John in the Jordan River. With baptism we become children of God, and also brothers and sisters of all those who are baptized. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray that we may do our part to bring about that unity among all Christians, which Jesus longed for when He prayed, “Father . . . may they be one!” We pray as well for all the Catholics in this Diocese who are baptized, but have fallen away from practicing the faith.
The Wedding Feast at Canna
For holy marriages
Immaculate Heart of Mary, you and your Son Jesus went to a wedding, and there He worked His first public miracle. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray for all those preparing for the Sacrament of Matrimony, and those who are married. Whenever their love and mercy are running low, please see their need dear Mother, and intercede for them, that they may be filled with an abundance of the best of the Lord’s own Mercy and Love.
The Proclamation of the Kingdom
For Catholic education
Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Son Jesus boldly proclaimed the Kingdom of His Father and called all souls to conversion. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray that those involved with passing on the faith within the Diocese of Steubenville will courageously and clearly proclaim the fullness of Truth with love, so that souls will appreciate the Beauty and Goodness of the Catholic Faith and live it with conviction.
The Transfiguration of Our Lord
For an increase in Eucharistic Adoration
Immaculate Heart of Mary, when your Son Jesus led Peter, James and John up the mountain and was transfigured before them, Peter declared, “It is good that we are here!” With this decade of the Rosary, we pray that many souls will realize how good it is to be in the Lord’s Eucharistic Presence, and that there will be an increase of Eucharistic Adoration throughout the Diocese of Steubenville, throughout this country, and throughout the world.
The Institution of the Eucharist
For vocations to the Priesthood
Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Son Jesus gave to the Church the gift of the priesthood, so that His Presence in the Eucharist may be always with us. Without priests we would not have the Eucharist. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray that many young men will hear and answer the call to be priests in every diocese in the nation.
