The Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

The Resurection

For renewed appreciation of the Sacrament of Confession
Immaculate Heart of Mary, the death of your Son Jesus was not the end: He rose to new life! With this decade of the Rosary, we pray for all those throughout the Diocese who are dead in sin. May they be granted the courage and humility they need to approach the merciful Heart of Jesus in the Sacrament of Confession. There, may they experience the healing and freedom He longs to give, and be brought to life again!

The Ascension

For those who are unemployed
Immaculate Heart of Mary, when your Son Jesus ascended into Heaven, there was much work to be done. They waited, though, until the Lord’s timing was made clear. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray for all those who are unemployed and are looking for work. May this time of waiting be filled with trust in the Lord, who is with them through it all and understands the pain of their particular suffering.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit

For a new Pentecost in every diocese
Immaculate Heart of Mary, united with the disciples of your Son Jesus, you prayed with them for the coming of the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit of Jesus came, they were transformed from frightened men hiding behind locked doors, into bold witnesses of Jesus, willing to give up their lives for Him. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray for a new Pentecost within the Diocese of Steubenville, so that we may be transformed and empowered by the Lord and Giver of Life to proclaim with boldness and joy His victory over sin and death.

The Assumption

For the elderly and the dying and those who care for them
Immaculate Heart of Mary, when your earthly pilgrimage was complete, you were brought Home to Heaven. With this decade of the Rosary, we pray for the elderly and the dying, that they will keep their hearts fixed on their destination: Heaven. And as long as they are here on earth, may we help them remember their dignity as beloved children of God our Father, and that their patience and suffering have great value in His eyes.

The Coronation of Our Lady

For trust in our Mother’s intercession
Immaculate Heart of Mary, you were crowned by your Son Jesus as Queen of Heaven and earth. He will deny you nothing! With this decade of the Rosary, we pray that your sons and daughters throughout the Diocese will greatly increase in their confidence in your powerful intercession, and turn to you in all their needs. To aid students in understanding and meditating on the mysteries we recommend downloading the complete The Immaculate Heart will Triumph for further contemplation.
