What does Scripture say about Prayer?
When we pray the Holy Rosary, we are praying Biblical prayers.
Paul tells us, “Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thes 5:16-18
In Matthew 18, Christ also tells us, when the unjust judge finally gave in to the widow’s persistence, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Of course there is much more to be gleaned from the Bible, but that’s enough to get the conversation started.
How often should we pray the Holy Rosary?
If you’re here you probably pray the Holy Rosary. How much is enough? How mush is too much? We know that once a year is not enough, but we also know that it’s not practical to pray the Rosary constantly all day – that’s not what Paul is asking of us, and that’s not what Christ is telling us, as well. But is there a happy medium?
How can we apply Biblical teachings on prayer to the praying Holy Rosary daily?
The Eucharist Rosary Congress is generally held for one week every year. Participants are asked to sign up to pray for one hour before our Eucharistic Lord in Adoration. While this hour is very powerful and many spiritual benefits may flow from that hour of prayer, we are certainly called to pray the holy Rosary more one time a year, aren’t we?
