How to Print Your ERC Booklets From a PDF

Printing booklets for your Eucharistic Rosary Congress adorers is easy, but you will need to make sure your print settings are correct in order to successfully print the PDF is booklet form.  We're providing instructions for two different applications (Adobe PDF and Foxit Reader), but the instructions should carry over to any other program you may be using.

IMPORTANT: It may not be possible to print from your browser or your phone; there are just too many variables to consider.  We recommend that you print from a desktop application specifically for PDFs.

Using Adobe PDF to Print Your ERC Booklets

  1. Adobe PDF Print Dialog

    Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    (Double-click your file and it should open in Acrobat by default.)

  2. Click “File” → “Print.”
    The Print Dialog window will open (see image).

  3. Choose your printer.
    At the top, make sure your real printer (not “Microsoft Print to PDF”) is selected.

  4. Page Sizing & Handling:

    1. Select Booklet (you’ll see the preview switch to show side-by-side booklet pages).

  5. Booklet Subset:

    1. Choose Both Sides if your printer supports duplex (automatic double-sided printing).

    2. If your printer can’t print both sides automatically, you may need to print Front Side Only, then re-insert the paper and print Back Side Only.

  6. Pages to Print:

    1. Select All.

    2. Don’t enter page numbers unless you really only want part of the booklet.

  7. Orientation:

    1. Select Portrait.

  8. Binding:

    1. Choose Left (so it folds like a regular book).

  9. Double-check the preview.
    You should see 2 booklet pages side by side on an 8.5x11 sheet.

  10. Click Print and let it run.
    Fold the pages in half when done, and you’ll have your booklet.

Using Foxit Reader to Print Your ERC Booklets

    1. FOXIT READER PRINT DIALOG

      FOXIT READER PRINT DIALOG

      Open your PDF in Foxit Reader.

    2. Click “File” → “Print.”
      The Print dialog will appear (see image).

    3. Choose your printer.
      Select your real printer from the drop-down list.

    4. Print Range:

      • Select All Pages.

      • (No need to type numbers unless you want just part of the document.)

    5. Print Handling Section:

      • Click Booklet.

    6. Binding:

      • Set to Left.

    7. Booklet Subset:

      • Choose Both. (This means both sides will print if your printer supports duplexing.)

      • If not, you’ll need to print the front pages first, flip/reload the stack, and then print the backs.

    8. Orientation:

      • Set to Portrait.

    9. Other Helpful Settings:

      • Keep Auto-Rotate and Auto-Center checked. This keeps things lined up correctly.

      • Margins can usually stay at the default (like 0.2").

    10. Preview Pane:

      • Look at the small preview — it should show two pages side-by-side on a sheet.

    11. Click OK to start printing.

    12. Fold and staple the pages down the middle, and you’ve got your booklet.

Generic Instructions to Print Your ERC Booklets

Summary of the Big Four Settings (for most PDF applications):

  • Booklet mode

  • Print All Pages

  • Portrait orientation

  • Both Sides (duplex printing, if your printer supports it, otherwise you will need to manually feed each side)
