On March 11, 2024, the Feast of St. Eulogius of Cordoba

Dear members and supporters of the Eucharistic Rosary Congresses,

To know the love of a biological or spiritual mother is one of the greatest gifts a person can receive from another human person.  There is nothing a mom will not do (morally) for a child that she loves.  We remember in scripture that we received this gift in a most special way.  On the cross, Christ looked down to His Mother, he asked her to behold John as her son and to John, He said, "Behold your mother."   Jesus offered His beloved Mother to St. John but He is also offering His Mother, Our Heavenly Mother to all of us.

With the Eucharistic Rosary Congress, we are accepting this gift of the Heavenly Mother's intercession in a very intentional way.  In seven days, we have a special daily Mass and have 24/7 Eucharistic Adoration and Rosaries prayed every hour.  In this week, we eagerly run to our Blessed Mother who always leads us to Her Son and away from spiritual danger.  It happens that we have seven deaneries in the Diocese of Charleston, and we make sure to have at least one church in each of the deaneries volunteer to take 24 hours during the Congress to provide the opportunity of joining and uniting prayer with the Blessed Mother while spending time in Adoration of Our Lord.   Just as Mary interceded for St. Juan Diego, she presents our prayers to Our Heavenly Father.   As she arranged the flowers in St. Juan's tilma, she takes our concerns directly to Our Lord and the result is renewed faith, hope and love.

I invite all dioceses to consider being a part of the Eucharistic Rosary Congress.  We have been participating for close to ten years and have seen abundant fruits from the great prayer effort.  The blessings far outnumber any of the work involved because we are not only praying as a single diocese but are joined by many others.
