On December 21, 2021, the feast of St. Peter Canisius, Doctor of the Church
Dear Friends of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
During this holy season of advent we walk, with hearts longing in joyful anticipation, to the intimacy and poverty of the stable of Bethlehem.
We are accompanied in our journey by the Virgin-Mother of Nazareth and her Holy Spouse.
There, in the silence and stillness of midnight we will see as if for the first time the stunning self-gift of God as a tiny, weeping, helpless Babe.
With glory the Holy Angels will announce Him. With humble faith the Shepherds will adore Him. Without words, and perhaps without knowing why, all creation will rejoice at the manifestation of God’s astounding love for mankind. Our God has come. He is with us. He loves us with unparalleled tenderness.
Let us run to meet Him and worship Him.
Through the Diocesan Rosary Congresses, we are given the opportunity to encounter Him again and again, not as a tiny, weeping, helpless Babe, but a tiny, humble Host wherein lies the God who holds the universe in His Hand. We are welcomed by Our Lady who, with ardent faith, gazed through the veil of flesh to see in her infant Child the thrice holy Godhead. She embraces us and shows us how to recognize her Son and believe in His powerful, life-giving Presence.
One week of Perpetual Adoration, with the Rosary offered each hour, repeats again and again this wondrous mystery. Let us make haste with the Angels and Shepherds to worship Him and then proclaim Him to a world that desperately needs the healing balm of His Presence.
Thank you for what you do to make this possible in your dioceses. For those of you who have not yet had a Diocesan Rosary Congress in your area, please consider hosting one.
In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Monica Condit
